If you’re like me, figuring out how to start an art project can be the most challenging part, especially with a blank canvas. For this project I overcame that challenge by deciding on one element of the painting at a time, I suggest you give it a try!
The first element I wanted to incorporate was a band logo, so i printed it out and traced it with a pencil directly onto my canvas.

Then I outlined the pencil boxes with paint so that I could avoid misshaping the logos when I added the background. I prefer to mix my own paint colors, and decided to mix 3 varying shades of purple for this piece. The lightest shade of purple was blended into the bottom, getting darker as you look up.

In order to define the boxes for the logo, I painted them in using a light blue paint color and outlined them using a very fine point brush with black paint.

Once the blue interior paint was dry, I free-hand drew the logo with pencil and continued using my fine black brush to complete the lines of the logo. I added small white dots on varyings sides of the logo to complete the look. This pieces proudly displayed in my room, matching the surrounding purple and gray decor.
